Last night Saultydog and I threw down the largest game of Pulp City that St. Louis has ever seen to this date. Level Eleven fights are extremely fun. But I am getting a bit ahead of myself. Let me back up.
Saulty debuted one hell of a table. It is a lightbox volcano table. Using xmas lights and a florescent light cover, topping it with foam islands and lighting it up. Great stuff. I will try to get pics from him soon to post in the gallery here at Neomorte.com
So, let’s get to the lists, shall we?
Saulty took the Hero side of life. His team consisted of Solar, Ace of Wraiths, Guerilla, Iron Train, Chimp Chi, Gentleman, and Red Riding Hoodoo.
My team was ARC heavy with Guerilla, Apebot, Chimp Chi, and Virus. The team as finished off with Nuke, Hellsmith and Twilight.
The first round was more or less jockeying for position and round 2 was the real start of the beatdown. While the details are a bit fuzzy, Gentleman was a horrendous pain in the ass with his sniper rifle and Saulty really put a beatdown on Apebot and Guerilla with his own Guerilla’s Dakka Boom. The thing that turned the tide was my rediscovering Nuke. My god he is awesome. Two rounds of moving up and using his Radiation action rolling a “6″ on both attempts chewed through his team at a quicker rate than I was losing models. The whole game lasted 5 rounds and about half that time saw Apebot on his ass.
The one thing I can tell you is I had a fantastic time and did not realize how much I missed playing the game. Next week, we look to have many many more people playing Pulp City games.
